Files Overview

The Files App by Zettlab differs significantly from its competitors. We aim to enable the built-in AI engine to start processing your uploaded data automatically in the background, including audio, video, images, and documents.

Of course, you can configure whether to enable AI, its operating times, and more in the Settings. For details about the AI engine's working principle, refer to "7. Appendix."

Interface Overview

In Files, you can easily manage, preview, and share all files stored in your NAS. The interface consists of a left sidebar (directory bar), a top toolbar, and the main display panel, where you can perform all file operations.

File Directory

The file directory includes four sections: Space, Sharings, Label, and Location.

Space

  1. Teams: Public space displaying shared team folders. Only admins can manage it, while regular users can view or edit it if authorized.
  2. Personal: Personal space showing folders created by the user.
  3. Users: (Visible only to admins) Displays all users' personal folders.
  4. App Folder: (Visible only to admins) Shows folders mounted by NAS apps for storing data generated by the apps.

Sharings

  1. Shared by Others: Displays files or folders shared by other users within the NAS, visible only to the selected users.

  1. My Shares: Shows files and folders shared by you, including external sharing information. Only you can view and manage this section.

Label

  1. Type: After uploading files, the NAS automatically categorizes them into types like Images, Videos, Audios, Documents, Zip Files, BT, etc.

Most importantly, users can filter files using tools like Color, Tags, Rate, and Metadata. Admins can view all files, while regular users can only see authorized files.

  1. AI Categories:
    • After uploading images and videos, the local AI LLM processes the data and automatically categorizes it.
    • Users can create new categories using words, phrases, or sentences. For example, creating a "gray machine" category will automatically classify relevant images and videos into this folder.

  1. Tags: View, delete, or add new tags for files with custom tags.

Location

Supports mounting mainstream cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and SMB services from other devices.
